Miller: “Christopher Dawson was one of the most famous historians of the 20th century . . . Prior to Vatican II he was really regarded as the historian in the Catholic Church, and he was accepted by those outside of the Catholic Church. In America, he was best known in the 1950s because of his theories on the liberal arts.”
